UI/UX Design

Interface design is often taken to mean picking colours and typefaces. The real work starts before that, in understanding what the visitor is looking for and in what order they ask.

A well designed page is one where the person looking at it finds the next step without thinking about it. Aesthetics support that, they do not replace it.

What the Process Involves

Content first, design second

A page whose message is undecided cannot be designed. Layouts built to receive copy later break when the copy arrives, and at that point the copy is what gets cut.

Information hierarchy

If everything on a page is important then nothing is. Deciding what a visitor sees in the first three seconds is the part of design that makes the most difference.

Mobile behaviour

Mobile is not a narrow version of the desktop layout. Order, touch targets and what gets hidden all need deciding on their own terms.

A design system

Colour, spacing and components defined in one place. Without a system every new page drifts a little further, and a year later the site is inconsistent with itself.

Our Approach

  • We present designs with real copy rather than placeholder text.
  • Mobile is decided at the same time as desktop, not after.
  • Accessibility is discussed during design rather than added as a layer later.
  • The design file is not the end of delivery, it keeps living alongside the code.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not always. If the budget is tight and the work fits a standard shape, a theme can make sense. The problem is that a theme is built around its own structure rather than your story. Forcing that structure often costs more than starting fresh.

We set stages instead of a number. Direction approval, design approval and pre delivery corrections. Because each stage has a defined subject, there is no endless revision loop.

Yes. Design source files belong to you the same way the code does. If you continue with another team you have something they can work with.
